Oregon Wedding Photography

~ Glen R Johnson ~

As you may have already seen on the home page, I like to work in a mostly journalistic, storytelling style that captures the beauty and emotion of the day.

However, I’m not at all rigid about that so I’m sure you’ve noticed some staged portraits in there as well. These staged images are captured when the bride and groom have a few moments to sneak away from the crowd and they do not happen in the middle of the wedding event itself. Any time the couple is participating in the event, I capture images without any interference at all and I believe this is a critical aspect of my style that allows me to capture the reality of the wedding day.

At different points throughout the day there are some natural breaks in the ceremony where I can sneak away with the bride and groom to create some artistic portraits that incorporate unique elements in the surrounding landscape.

The following are a few slideshows from Oregon weddings.

I can’t wait to hear from you!

Until we meet, here’s another fun thing to know about my history in the wedding industry.

My books

In 2006 the book publisher John Wiley & Sons invited me to write a textbook on digital wedding photography. The first edition came out in about 2007 and it sold so well that in 2010 they asked me to do it again with all updated material. The second version came out in 2011 and is still available wherever books are sold.

I feel very proud of this achievement, first for the accomplishment of getting two books published with my name on it, but then even more so to have had such a positive influence in the world of wedding photography contributing to the education of well over 50,000 photographers worldwide – assuming they actually read it.
