I start with a base price of $1600 (6 hrs) or $2000 (10 hrs) which I feel is competitive with the rates of other experienced wedding photographers in Oregon.
Additional services are things like: an engagement shoot, travel expenses, a second photographer, an album, hosting an online video slideshow, extra days of shooting for extended events, etc.
To start, let’s schedule an interview.
This is an important step for both of us. I’ve learned that, in the same way some photographers won’t fit your style, it’s also true that some weddings are just not going to fit my style, and the last thing I want to do is try to adapt what I do to a wedding where I’m really not a good fit. Neither of us would be happy with the results of such a mismatch so I try to avoid that by choosing my clients carefully. I work with those who feel a strong connection to the style of my work and who are planning the type of wedding that allows me to perform at my best.
Albums:
Albums are a very complex project that is totally separate from the wedding photography part of the job. Depending on your budget and your taste, albums can range from a couple hundred dollars for the simplest book, to thousands of dollars for really complex jobs that take me a month sitting behind the computer. The amount you wish to budget for an album project determines the printing company I choose, the printing materials and the amount of time I can spend on the artwork. I could make you a book in a couple hours, but I’ve also literally spent a month on a single book that won best of show for all entries of all types, in the Oregon Professional Photographers Convention for that year. Because of all the choices and the complexity of an album project, I separate album projects from my original contract for the photography service. If you wish to order an album, we would talk soon after the wedding is over and make an additional contract just for this project.
Oregon Driving Travel fees Driving travel fees of $1.25 per mile apply if the wedding is within Oregon. If the wedding location is farther than 100 miles, but not far enough to require an airplane, it will require a hotel charge of $150/day in addition to the $1.25 per mile travel fee.
USA States air travel – $1000 covers all expenses to ANY State in the continental US.
International Destinations (outside the continental US)
The prices below cover things like flight, food, rental car or taxi and hotel etc.
The following are rough estimates and not a guarantee. The following prices are also dependent on having at least 3 months notice. After we talk in person, I’ll look up he actual travel rates and put that in my price quote.

Extra Days of Shooting:
Many destination weddings will be multi day events. Sometimes you might be planning a fun excursion in the days before or the days after the ceremony day. If time allows it in my schedule, I may be delighted to attend either in an unofficial capacity “off the clock” and take pictures, or if you want to formally put this event day on the contract we can do that too. Let me know what you’re planning when we meet, and we can talk about how to proceed.
